A little help getting settled

Frequently asked questions

What is UAE Communities?

A network of neighbourhood groups for Dubai, brought to you by Collectives LLC. Residents, property owners, and neighbours can meet, share local knowledge, and follow the topics they care about.

Do I need a Discord account?

Yes. One Discord account can join more than one community. You do not create a separate account for each neighbourhood.

Will other members see my phone number?

No. Community groups do not ask for a phone number, and Discord does not show it to other members. People can see the display name you chose, the flag beside it, and the roles on your profile, including a building role if you picked one. Anything you later post is visible to people who can open that room.

Can I join more than one community?

Yes. Each neighbourhood has its own invite on the community map. Joining another community does not open its resident or owner rooms. Each welcome is separate.

Why are some rooms restricted?

Some conversations are for residents, property owners, or one building. The welcome gives you the role that opens those rooms. That keeps a building chat for the people who asked for it.

Are all members verified?

No. Joining is a declaration. We do not collect an identity document, an Ejari, or a title deed. A resident or owner role means the person chose that path. It is not proof of identity or residence.

What does joining ask me?

How you take part, an age band, the rules, female or male for the ladies-only lounge, your country, a display name of up to 12 letters, one building if you live or own there, and optional nationality rooms. The full list is in the privacy notice below.

Can I control notifications?

Yes. Discord lets you mute a community or a single room.

How do I report a problem?

Use the community’s help or moderator path inside Discord, or email support@collectiveshub.com. Report privately. Do not post someone else’s phone number or documents.

I am new to Discord. Is that a problem?

No. Install Discord on your phone or computer, then open your community’s invite. The welcome message in the server walks you through joining. Why we use Discord explains the layout.

Privacy in our community groups

Community groups collect less than the wider Collectives service. They do not ask for a phone number, an identity document, a tenancy contract, or a unit number, and they do not use the SOS app.

This website does not run its own analytics and does not store contact-form messages. Joining answers become Discord roles and your server nickname. They are not copied into a separate Collectives database.

The short version is here. The full notice has its own page. Discord’s privacy policy also applies when you use Discord.
